Multi 2 Diamonds
Multi 2 Diamonds is an openning system devised by Terence Reese and jeremy Flint. Multi 2 Diamonds openning promises either;
1. A weak 2 major openning hand (6-11 HCPs and 6 cards of a major), or
2. A strong 2 bid in a minor suit with 19-22 HCPs, or
3. 19-22 HCPs and 4441 distribution hand.
In this system 2 Spades and 2 Hearts opennings may be applied as strong opennings, and 2 Clubs openning may be 23+ HCPs with any kind of hand which is a game forcing. Albaran convention may be applied in 2 Club opennings.
Responses to Multi 2 Diamonds openning may be in three ways. 2 Hearts means "let's play your major" with a weak hand, 2 Spades means "let's play Spades if your major is Spades, but may be game if your major is Hearts", and 2 NT shows 14+ HCPs and forces the opener to explain his hand. Let's see the possible auction sequences at the below tables.

Before continue further, let's explain the auction on this table. 2 NT rebid of the opener shows 19-22 HCPs with an unbalanced hand. Responder's rebid of 3 Clubs is a relay bid asking the long suit of the opener. After then he may bid game or invite to slam depending the HCPs he holds. If the responder does not have support to the opener's suit, then he may bid his own long suit. In this case, Opener may support or may bid NT. The suit bids by the responder other than 3 Clubs should be accepted as transfer.
Opener's suit rebids in the third level shows 19-22 HCPs and 4441 distribution in which the higher ranking suit is singleton. If the responder rebids this singleton, it means that the hand is very weak and require the opener to make a relay bid and then pass. In the above table, after 2 Diamonds-2 Hearts-3 Clubs auction sequence, 3 Diamonds rebid of the responder shows a very weak hand, Opener's 3 Hearts is a relay bid and then responder bid his longest suit and the Opener passes.
If the response to 2 Diamonds openning is 2 Spades, only the first two lines change in the above table. Opener passes with a weak 2 Spades hand, and bid 4 Hearts with a weak 2 Hearts hand. The other auctions do not change.

The suit responses to 2 Diamonds openning other than 2 Hearts or 2 Spades are preemptive, shows long suit and weak hand.
Overcall disturbs these auction sequences. Double in the second level is Responsive but is penalty in the third level. The other responses should be accepted as natural.
Double by the first opponent does not disturb the auction.
